Ryan + Todd In Downtown Atlanta

Ryan + Todd were so much fun to work with during their engagement session. Like I mentioned in the previous post, all of my plans were shot when we found out about the music festival in town. So, this is my idea of “winging-it”.

I can’t wait to shoot your wedding this weekend guys!

Enjoy!

Ryan + Todd Engagement Teaser

I learned something during this engagement session: If you’re going to plan an engagement shoot in a public park, be sure that there’s not a huge music festival scheduled that same day.

We had originally planned to shoot at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, but after learning about a huge music festival that was going on that weekend, we changed our plans at the last minute and went to the Fox Theatre instead. Well, that’s where we started anyway…

Here’s a teaser from their session. The rest are coming later this week! (Just in time because their wedding is next weekend!)

Introducing the Photobooth!

I hate to dance. I mean really, really hate it. Obviously, it’s because I can’t do it. (Well, that’s not entirely true… I do like to swing dance… but anyway, for the purpose of this post, I hate dancing okay?). Luckily, I bet I’m not the only one though.

That being said, how many people out there get invited to a wedding and then spend the entire reception sitting around? That’s totally me… well, not when I’m shooting the wedding, but when I’m a guest. Honestly, if you don’t like to dance, receptions are b-o-r-i-n-g. Oh, and table shots? Lots of people want them so they can get a photo of everyone attending, but who REALLY wants photos of people huddled around a table filled with dirty dishes?

Enter stage right a new offering from JParker Studio called the Photobooth! Isn’t that one of those things where you and 20 of your friends cram into a wooden box and press a button and a photo is spit out? Well, yeah, but this one’s much cooler than that.

During the downtime of your reception, I set up a backdrop and some lights and we get crazy! In order to get the best possible photos of your guests, I am behind the camera the entire time setting up crazy scenarios and shooting them. Honestly, it is the MOST fun I have had at a reception and everyone has a great time!

Here are some of my favorites from the Photobooth I set up during Camille + John’s wedding a few weeks ago. People were having so much fun that I ended up staying an additional hour to squeeze everyone in!

If you were one of the people at Camille + John’s wedding, please leave a comment about your experience with the Photobooth! Come on, say it was awesome… you know you want to….

Baby Ollie

I don’t really know why the title of this post is Baby Ollie, because he’s definitely not a baby anymore! These photos were taken when he was a few days shy of 14 months old. His parents are good friends with me and my family, and since Ollie is 2 weeks older than my daughter Kylen, they play together a lot. It’s so cool to see them both growing up so quickly!

Luckily, they hired me to take some portraits of Ollie so that they’ll have some photos to remember him at this age. Here are a few of my favorites from his session. Oh, and these were taken at the Getty museum in Los Angeles.

My Family

I think it’s extremely important for my clients to know a bit about me. Weddings are extremely personal, and, as such, having someone you know and trust there to photograph you on your wedding day makes it that much more exciting. I never want to show up to a wedding where I am just “the photographer” - I’d much rather be “Jeremy”.

So, when I can, I’m going to post personal things on this blog as well to help perspective clients get an idea of who I am as a person - besides, when you hire me, you’re stuck with me for pretty much an entire day!

So, first off, the bad thing about being a photographer is that the photos that you have don’t include you. I have taken tons of photos of my family (especially my daughter, Kylen), but these have never included me in them. So, a week ago, I decided to do something about that and take some photos with all of us together.

So, here is me, my wife Amaria, and my daughter Kylen! Thanks for stopping by.
