Karen + Patrick in Atlanta, GA

Karen + Patrick got married in Atlanta, GA at the Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Karen had to be the most relaxed bride I have ever shot. Just before the ceremony I found her relaxing upstairs with her dad with a huge smile. She wore that smile the entire day.

However, my favorite part of the day by far was when her brothers performed an amazing dancing rendition of “My Little Buttercup”.

Thank you both for allowing me to be a part of your lives!

ryan + todd at callaway gardens

Ceremony: Callaway Gardens
Reception: Virginia Hand Callaway Discover Center
Cake: Cakes by Susan

Ryan + Todd are just the sorts of people who you know are cooler than you. I had that sneaking suspicion when I shot their engagement session, and it was definitely confirmed when I saw their first dance. These guys do swing like it’s meant to be done – loose, spontaneous, but totally in control of the beat. I tip my hat to both of you – not only are you two amazingly fun people, but you’re also cooler than I’ll ever be.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives guys!

Camille + John in Pasadena, CA

Ceremony: St. Philip the Apostle’s Church
Reception: Altadena Town and Country Club
Gown: Yelena Bridal
Cake: Pastries by Nancy

You might remember Camille + John from their awesome engagement session, or even that they were the first ever beneficiaries of the amazing JParker Studio Photobooth.

Both Camille + John are such great people to be around, and I am so glad that I could be there on their wedding day. I can’t say enough how much I enjoyed my time with them since meeting them over a year ago.

Guys – I can’t wait for the housewarming party! See you then!

P.S. How cool is it that they had a cotton candy machine at their wedding?!?!

Introducing the Photobooth!

I hate to dance. I mean really, really hate it. Obviously, it’s because I can’t do it. (Well, that’s not entirely true… I do like to swing dance… but anyway, for the purpose of this post, I hate dancing okay?). Luckily, I bet I’m not the only one though.

That being said, how many people out there get invited to a wedding and then spend the entire reception sitting around? That’s totally me… well, not when I’m shooting the wedding, but when I’m a guest. Honestly, if you don’t like to dance, receptions are b-o-r-i-n-g. Oh, and table shots? Lots of people want them so they can get a photo of everyone attending, but who REALLY wants photos of people huddled around a table filled with dirty dishes?

Enter stage right a new offering from JParker Studio called the Photobooth! Isn’t that one of those things where you and 20 of your friends cram into a wooden box and press a button and a photo is spit out? Well, yeah, but this one’s much cooler than that.

During the downtime of your reception, I set up a backdrop and some lights and we get crazy! In order to get the best possible photos of your guests, I am behind the camera the entire time setting up crazy scenarios and shooting them. Honestly, it is the MOST fun I have had at a reception and everyone has a great time!

Here are some of my favorites from the Photobooth I set up during Camille + John’s wedding a few weeks ago. People were having so much fun that I ended up staying an additional hour to squeeze everyone in!

If you were one of the people at Camille + John’s wedding, please leave a comment about your experience with the Photobooth! Come on, say it was awesome… you know you want to….

michelle + ville in savannah, ga

I’ve gotten a bit behind with the blog recently so sorry about that! Time to blog Michelle + Ville’s wedding now though… They got married at the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah, GA. Man, this venue is THE place to get married in Savannah if you’re into the modern, art deco vibe! We had a great time wandering the halls taking great portraits… there wasn’t a bad backdrop in this place.

Anyway, I had shot Michelle’s bridal session already, so we were already great friends… but I hadn’t met Ville yet so I was really looking forward to doing so. He turned out to be just as great to work with as Michelle was.

Thank you for letting me be a part of your day guys – I had a great time!

A bit about this next shot. Ville and Michelle chose to not see each other prior to the ceremony. While I was talking to Michelle about their plans, she mentioned that they moved their wedding from Finland to Georgia because her dad had cancer. I knew immediately that I had to set up a moment between the two of them where he gets to see his daughter, in her wedding dress, for the first time – a bit like a groom seeing his bride for the first time. I knew this series of photos would be special to their family… I’m so glad I had that opportunity to set this up.
